Challenges faced by agricultural sector

Joint venture to construct power station

Cosira Tubular Joint Venture was awarded a prestigious contract for work on Eskom’s Kusile power station through Alstom in September 2009. Both companies in the joint venture (JV) have been involved with the construction of a steam turbine hall for the power station.

MTN greens informal settlements

In collaboration with Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA), MTN has planted 7 500 trees in informal settlements in six South African provinces over the past six months.

The Department of Water and Environmental Affairs hosted and participated in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 7th Meeting of Parties to the Kyoto Protocol in Durban in 2012.

Partnership to help the youth

The SABS and TIA joined forces in March to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation amongst young South Africans. This partnership will ensure that young businessmen with a great idea will be able to follow their invention through and introduce it to the market, with the stamp of approval of the SABS.

Bosch Munitech is the first company in South Africa that receives a triple 7 rating from the Construction Industry Development Board. CIDB ratings are aimed at screening the industry to ensure service delivery by all participants, as well as promote excellence.
