A home-brewed convention serving national and international energy markets

The 8th annual Southern African Energy-Efficiency (SAEE) Convention will be held on 13 and 14 November 2013.

Emperor’s Palace will see its halls light up with energy-efficient solutions at the 8th annual Southern African Energy-Efficiency (SAEE) convention that will be held on 13 and 14 November.

The home-brewed event will showcase the latest trends, services and products in South Africa’s energy sector, with an interactive exhibition area to compliment two days of plenary sessions and workshops about energy and environmental management, facilities building upgrades, energy engineering, cogeneration, power generation and efficiency improvement industries.

Complementing the SAEE flagship event will be an exhibition hall with over 40 stalls showcasing solutions to delegates from around the country, creating an opportunity for synergy, networking and sustainable business models.

Karel Steyn, president of SAEE, says: “Attending the convention will assist one to stay informed and at the forefront on the latest developments in energy-efficiency related matters, e.g. regulations, technologies, opportunities, etc. both locally and internationally. It is also the ideal opportunity to network and collaborate with like-minded people and individuals in the industry, who would proof to be of value in the future while improving your knowledge in a specific area identified upfront.”

Over 62 local and nine international specialist speakers have been submitting abstract papers to present at the SAEE Convention for consideration, which are currently under review in specialised areas such as measurement and verification, financing and tax, clean energy generation and green building trends, to name a few.

On the evening of 13 November, the annual celebration banquet will officially open the event with the SAEE Awards recognising outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the energy industry over the past year.

Once again the 2013 SAEE Convention and banquet will celebrate, inspire and encourage this home-brewed thinking through best practice sharing.
